April 27, 2005 - William Kristol will be speaking at DeSales University Thursday night. Kristol is the editor of The Weekly Standard, a conservative publication. When I saw the announcement in the paper last week, I was thinking of going and taking my camera just in case some lowbrow who cannot stand conservative opinion resorts to throwing food at him. There has a been a rash of food-throwing at conservative speakers of late and Mr. Kristol himself was already hit. To be fair, I must give mention to the man (a Vietnam Vet) who spit tobacco juice on Jane Fonda a few days ago. But, that's as far as I go. Fonda's actions during Vietnam are unforgivable. Imagine if a celebrity during WWII had publicity photos taken while sitting in a Zero's cockpit while kissing up to the Japanese or if a celebrity manned a Panzer while hobnobbing with the German Brass! Spoiled rotten numbskulls who cannot stand the fact that conservatives have the same First Amendment rights as they do are merely acting out frustrations caused by a lack of intolerance and vacuous disposition. Vietnam Veterans who served their country are within their right to treat Ms. Fonda like a spittoon.
