Nov. 3, 2004

November 3, 2004 - We Americans elected Dubya to a second term. Now, to address those cry misery and villenage because he's in the Oval Office. Personally, I believe I am better off than I was in 2000. Is that because of my own initiatives or because of who the President is? Heck, I was better off in 2000 than I was in '96 and better off in '96 than I was in '92. Was that because of Clinton or because of me? But I suppose that believing I am more responsible for my quality of life instead of somebody else is contrary to core liberal beliefs. The wealthy blowhards who supported Kerry1 should channel their rhetoric into the positive and welcome the fact that we control our fate. One core value of being American is that we choose our lifestyles and control our fate. Anyone could be a Micheal Dell, Bill Gates, or Oprah Winfrey. Maybe the odds are against you but maybe the aforementioned self-made people did what they did better and smarter than others. We should teach our children that pursuit of goals should be based more on what's inside rather than who is in the White House. Instead, the lunatic fringe tries to tell us that we are mindless and weak and have no hope while Dubya is President. Of course, only the mindless and the weak will believe them.

The wealthy blowhards and their bellicose rhetoric really hurt Kerry. I know the left of the left with their stalwarts of Michael Moore, Rathergate, and Moveon.org helped people see through the b.s. and hatred. Why vote for a candidate whose celebrity backers appear as angry, jealous, and twist anything to make Dubya look bad? I know that Moore, for example, is not the typical liberal, but, as they say, one apple spoils the bunch. Hats off to Dubya for not bowing to their level. Maybe Kerry should have issued a statement saying that while he respected Moore's right to his beliefs, Moore, by no means, represents the epitome of the Democratic party. Distancing himself from the left of the left while not totally discounting them as liberals.

An "anyone but the incumbent" approach is not the right one to take, either. As Americans we vote for people, not against them. The American people, once again, came through and stood up for the candidate they believed was the more capable of the two.
