Yet Another Weather Comment (or Complaint)

A story in Monday's Morning Call discusses the cooler weather we've had so far in May. Apparently, "
Unseasonably lower temperatures credited to stationary system." I see. When it's cooler than normal, it's a stationary system. When it's warmer than normal, the econuts tell us it's global warming.

A "sign of the times" was made quite evident today when I heard a news report that Hamilton Township, NJ has passed a "pedophile free zone" ordinance, supposedly making it the first such designated area in the country. You may recall this is the town from which Megan Kanka was kidnapped and murdered. As such, it is now illegal for any pedophile to live within 2,500 feet of a school. So extrapolating the logic from that, it would appear that if such a monster were to live 3,000 feet from a school, that extra 500 feet would most definitely assure the safety of all the kids in the school. We all know that pedophiles can't walk further than 2,500 feet! I'm sure this law will make all the residents of that town sleep easier tonight. I would suggest the re-introduction of "Old Sparky", the renowned "hot seat" of New Jersey, to aid in the relocation of any such offenders to go and visit their 72 virgins or whatever seven-headed deities these bozos pray to! To add insult to injury was the post script which announced that the good old ACLU was going to fight the constitutionality of this law. This certainly comports to their usual "any enemy of this country is a friend of mine" mentality! I ask you, is there any sanity left anywhere??
